Nine times table with fingers
I’ve just learned this nifty little trick for using the hands to help with the nine times table. I feel like a little kid again! It’ll certainly be great for injecting a bit of fun into multiplication tables.
OK, so hold out your hands, palms facing upwards, and mentally number each finger one to ten from left thumb across to the right thumb. Now, bend down the left middle finger, it’s finger three. The fingers to the left of the bent finger represents tens, and those to the right represent units, so, with the left middle finger down, you have two tens, and seven units to the right. So 3 x 9 = 27!
Try it!
